A Registered Nurse hired for a temporary 13-week assignment within Orlando Health Bayfront hospital to assist with addressing staffing deficits. The RN will provide direct bedside patient care on the unit that regularly staffs RNs on a 24-hour, 7 days per week basis.

About this floor:

This 36-bed unit is divided into two specialized areas:

1. General Surgical Area: This clean, high-energy section is designed for quick patient turnover, with most patients discharged within 24 to 48 hours. It primarily handles orthopedic surgeries, including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as bariatric sleeves, minimally invasive surgeries, urological procedures, and ostomy care.
2. Med/Surg Area with Surgical Overflow: This area caters to a diverse patient population, including those recovering from hysterectomies, urological surgeries, wound infections requiring incision and drainage (I&D), and general medical conditions. Patients here may have complex needs, such as those from nursing homes or those with dialysis or diabetes management requirements. This section often sees patients with more frequent turning and comprehensive care needs.

This unit offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to both surgical and medical patients.
