Works with the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) to develop and maintain a robust quality, process improvement and patient safety program
Education/Training
Master’s degree required in a clinical discipline, industrial engineering, or related field.
Licensure/Certification
• Maintain current Florida licensure if degree is held in a clinical discipline.
Experience
Five (5) years of leadership experience in quality, process improvement, or patient safety required.
• Oversees the daily operations of the department.
• Works with the leadership team to develop a culture and practice environment that embraces quality and patient safety, and is in
compliance with the requirements of the various regulatory agencies.
• Works collaboratively with the CQO to develop and implement the hospital level strategic plan for quality and safety.
• Promotes a satisfied, healthy work environment for the workforce by establishing a climate of growth, challenge and development
of all team members.
• Organizes and leads workgroups to achieve success with hospital quality metrics.
• Promotes the scientific method for problem solving by coaching individuals and teams in the use of PDSA’s (Plan Do Study Act).
• Participates in the planning and implementation of new technologies and procedures that support or enhance quality and patient
safety activities.
• Works with the CQO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the development and management of the department budget.
• Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with the medical staff and hospital leadership team.
• Embraces, communicates and promotes effective change.
• Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
